Claire Moiroud

Dr Claire Moiroud graduated from the National Veterinary School of Alfort (EnvA – France) in 2008. After a general equine internship at EnvA, she worked for 2 years in mixed private practices in Normandy before returning to academia in 2012 by joining the equine department of EnvA and especially the team of the Center of Imaging and Research of Equine Locomotor Aections (CIRALE). In 2013, she started a residency program on Equine Locomotor Injuries and 2 years later began the ACVSMR traditional residency track, both under the supervision of Pr Jean-Marie Denoix at CIRALE. She obtained a DESV degree (Veterinary Specialist French Diploma in Equine Biomechanics and Locomotor Apparatus Pathology) in October 2016, passed the certication of the International Society of Equine Locomotor Pathology (ISELP) in December 2019 and became diplomate of the ACVSMR in February 2020. In September 2022, she became diplomate of the ECVSMR by recognition of her DACVSMR active status.
Since 2015, alongside with Pr Jean-Marie Denoix, Claire Moiroud is in charge of developping Kinesia, the new unit of the CIRALE dedicated to physiotherapy and rehabilitation, which had opened in 2020. Besides her clinical and research activity in physiotherapy and rehabilitation of locomotor apparatus conditions, she is involved in advanced imaging examinations (MRI and CT), particularly as anesthesist for procedures under general anesthesia, and in sports medicine consultations.
Claire Moiroud is member of the Locomotor and Sports Medicine Committees of the French Equine Practitioner Association (AVEF), manage post-graduated courses on physiotherapy and rehabilitation, and acts regularly as line vet on national and international endurance rides’ vet gates in France.
